The lake is among the 25 largest lakes in the world and the sixth in the list of the deepest lakes in the world. If translated from the Kyrgyz language, it means "hot lake", since Issyk-Kul does not freeze in winter. Due to the salinity of water, the heat reserves in the water column and mild winters, the lake is not covered with ice. Issyk-Kul is the second most transparent lake in the world, after lake Baikal. The tourists are becoming more and more interested in this lake each year. The lake has long been loved by both residents of the CIS countries and distant tourists from Western countries.
